The individuals listed are the state liaisons for issues involving the placement of a J-1 waiver physician in their state through the Conrad State 30 program and the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC). They can provide general information on their respective programs and whether an area is designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area or Medically Underserved Area. They do not however function as physician recruiters nor are they in a position to provide J-1 physicians seeking employment with job opportunities in their states. If you have an attorney it is best to allow your representative to communicate with the state liaison rather than yourself, as very often they have established working relationships with these individuals. The state liaisons should also not be called on a regular basis inquiring about the status of a waiver application that may be pending before them.
